In every single of solo travelling, there is always somewhat unexpected kindness on the way.

🍧 The sweetness of solo travel

I went on a business trip to Busan. I really felt like I was travelling, not on a business. For me, travelling itself really excites me at the same time makes me quite anxious out of many unexpected things ahead of me. Especially, Whenever I go to a place that I haven’t been to, I am quite anxious and ask myself, “What will happen here? and replying back to me, “I have no idea.”

Because of the fear of “visiting for the first time,” I think I expect some more kindness. Out of many unexpected and unfamiliar cultures, food, and foreign languages — it really makes me a little uncomfortable.

For example, I feel like there’s nothing special about the accommodation where I stay, So I think I wouldn’t have much to say about it — but thanks to the warm care and wordings from the hosts of the accommodation — the whole city suddenly looks much better. Sometimes, the same thing happens when I walk with my 10kg heavy backpack and some local’s unexpected kindness make the city much charming. Well, I guess that’s what travelling is and the power of unexpected kindness. So sometimes I always wonder what kind of kindness is waiting for me on my next trip.

There were two purposes for my trip to Busan at this time. It was for business purposes, but also an occasion to look around Busan from the perspective of a female solo traveller.

If someone asks, So what kind of city Busan was? Then, I can say Busan was really warming. I wanted to throw out my wool jumper in the sea. And also, Busan really made my heart warm. No matter how lucky I was, I couldn’t meet these many good people in this short time of period.

During this trip, I met — A NomadHer who greeted me so much and grilled clams and put them on my plate throughout the dinner. I met a supporter who spared her lunchtime to meet me. I met people from the tourism information desk who always smiled and explain so kindly to repeat questions from the tourists. I met bus drivers who awakens me by saying “You said you have to get off at this stop. you’d better be ready, now!” whenever I slightly missed the bus stop.

I can’t believe how much help I’ve received from this trip.

I think this is one of the reasons I have continued travelling solo. When you travel alone for the first time, it’s easy to think that I have to solve everything on my own. It could almost be true but at the same time, It is also the trip that receives help more than you can imagine. And here is what I learned from this experience. Whenever there’s someone who seems in need of help, I’m going to help them too! As a result, I think solo travelling has really broadened my point of view. If When we start traveling solo for the first time, we often only care about ourselves. However, as time goes by, we learn to look around and care about other people while still caring ourselves.

In every single of solo travelling, there is always somewhat unexpected kindness on the way.

You will see it when you start your first solo trip.
