Heeya NomadHers!
How was your November? We have one month left to greet 2019! November has been a very busy month for the NomadHer team and here are several updates. Our mission to empower women through travelling will continue :)
- Y Combinator Startup School
NomadHer graduated from Y Combinator startup school after the past 10 weeks of training. NomadHer was part of an advisory track, where we had a weekly mentoring session from a former YC alumni Yurij Riphyak, a Co-founder of YouTeam, a tech talent sharing marketplace. During the 10 weeks courses, we have learned how to grow a startup from A to Z. Thank you so much YC for giving us so much inspiration and hope to see you in Palo Alto for 2020! #SUS2018
2. Web Summit (Lisbon, Portugal)
NomadHer team went to Web Summit in Lisbon, the summit called as the “Davos Forum for geeks” or the largest tech summit in Europe. For four days, from November 5th to 8th, NomadHer was surrounded by the 70,000 participants from all around the world. This time, we participated as a rookie entrepreneur but our next goal is audacious. We imagine our team pitching for the next 2019 summit as one of the finalists to share our vision! Please stay tuned for our 2019 Web Summit story.
3. Women's Forum for the Economy & Society
How to increase the youth female entrepreneurs voice? NomadHer CEO Hyojeong presented on NomadHer’s vision and how NomadHer wants to encourage more women to go on solo female travelling at Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society from November 14 to 16. Hyojeong spoke as one of the four panellists at Daring Hub, under the theme Inspiring the next generations of young women leaders. She explained the importance of solo travelling, how it can make women braver and courageous while pushing their boundary, while there should be a guideline on safety. All the chance up to speak up the voice has not been possible without the support from G(irls)20 Summit who together spoke up the voice on the importance of reflecting the youth’s voice into the decision-making process.
